Aurel Thurn, born in Hamburg in 1969, graduated from the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. He now acts as a production manager for Kami Manns and the Salzburg based dance company cieLaroque / helene weinzierl, and as a tour manager for Banality Dreams, Berlin/Oslo.
Between 2007 and 2009 he collaborated with the contemporary art institution Artneuland, Berlin and supported the artist's collaborative structure kom.post which was present at thes festival d'Avignon 2009 in the context of the Rencontres Européennes.
In 2004/2005 he collaborated with the international dance company Constanza Macra-Dorkypark as production and tour manager for the creations MIR 3, Scratch Neukölln, Back to the Present and Big in Bombay. The works were represented in international theaters such as, inter alia, the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, the Sophiensaele, and the HAU in Berlin, the Festival d'Avignon , Lille 2004, the Goethe Institutes in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, and the Festival Drodesera Italy. In addition various projects were developed since 2005 and links were established with different performers, choreographers and directors such as Joanna Dudley, Friedrich Liechtenstein, Mikel Aristegui, Michael d'Auzon, and Pedro Kadivar, often intervening in public space. (Pergamon Museum, Berlin, various churches).
In the field of fine arts, Aurel Thurn has created 2001 his own structure. Responsible for distribution and sale of works by international artists, he has made exhibitions in Paris, Nantes, Hamburg and Berlin.
Since 1997 he has been engaged as production and administration manager in different fields of contemporary art in Paris, Hamburg and since 2003 in Berlin.
Aurel Thurn manages marketing, fundraising and sponsorship, the control of budgets, the implementation of applications for national and international public funding.
Throughout his career Aurel Thurn wrote and published in several art magazines in France and Germany (sleek, Area magazines).
